How To Protect Yourself From Drive-By-Energy Bombers
Immediately you pick up that the energy in the room has shifted. They haven’t said a word yet, but you can sense the vibe… Here it comes; their mouth opens… and the complaining begins. “Oh, what I night I had last night! My kids put me through this … and that. You wouldn’t believe the problems I’m with… I don’t know when it’s going to end. Well, I guess I should get back to work – Have a good day!”
The color starts to run from your face, the pile of work you were excited to dig into suddenly looks a lot bigger and you start thinking, “does what I do here even make a difference?”
You’ve been sucked in to someone else’s negative energy and it’s shifted your own energy before you realize what happened.
Now I’m not doggin’ on problems and sharing them with a friend. We all need to have people we connect with, bend their ear and let them in on what’s happening in our heart. We all have problems that we have to work out; however, beware the “Drive-By Energy Bombers.” We can’t always lock our office door, or send them packing. Sometimes we’re living with the negative bomber, so what can we do?
Two-Step Strategy to Redirect Energy Bombing
One of the methods I’ve used in my Massage Therapy practice, where I’ve worked on hundreds of people of varying energy types, is being solidly grounded.
What does that mean? It means before I walked in the therapy room with someone; I cleared my mind of all the clutter, I looked at my goals in the treatment and what I wanted to accomplish for my patient. I looked at who I am and what I had to offer, with full knowing that I’m solid and effective at what I do. Then symbolically I pictured my feet solid on the ground and like a tree with its roots, I projected my roots deep in the ground so I can be solid for my patient. When I am solid, no matter what my patient may be going through, I can stand firm for them.
The second step in this process is to connect to Source energy.
My Source is the highest place within me. It has universal power and healing energy that is unending and flows through me. It does not come from me, but flows through me making me a conduit or facilitator to connect others to healing energy.
Though sometimes we may forget, we’re always connected to this Source energy and it flows throughout every situation in our lives. When we are grounded and connected to our Source energy, other influences simply fall away. Knowing that you are connected reminds us that we can always be solid and powerful within, no matter what anyone projects towards us. Be grounded and let Source flow through you in all you do. The rest will take care of itself.
